Jantsan Gundegmaa at home in Ulaanbaator sewing another silk brocade cover for an old sutra discovered in a Mongol family’s commode. People come from all over Mongolia to Zava Damdin with their precious letters and old now crumbling pecha-texts for insight into their meaning, purpose or content. Using her sewing machine and skilled handiwork J.Gundegmaa ensures they leave with their precious artefacts wrapped in silk. 7 October 2014 Photograph C.Pleteshner
